12 Nov Colshaw Hall Cheshire – Leah and Andy’s Wedding Film
Colshaw Hall is an exquisite wedding venue located in Over Peover in Cheshire. It’s a Grade II listed manor house that oozes character and has so many beautiful rooms for photos and video, for when the weather doesn’t behave itself. It was a pleasant September’s day when Leah and Andy tied the knot and I had the pleasure of capturing their incredible day.
Leah and Andy have had a string of bad luck when it came to organising their wedding. They were meant to wed in 2019, but unfortunately, their wedding venue went out of business, so they were forced to reschedule for 2020. Of course, 2020 has been a year of uncertainty with Covid-19, and after 2 further postponements, Andy and Leah were finally able to go ahead with their special day!
Colshaw Hall Wedding Highlights Film
Colshaw Hall is one of those venues that just needs to be captured from above. The elegant, Tudor-style country estate looks incredible when filmed using a drone, as you can appreciate not just the grandeur of the property, but also the manicured gardens and lake.
I joined Leah and her bridal party in the Makeup Lounge — a new space dedicated to bridal party preparations. The room is bright and spacious with hair and makeup stations. The prosecco was flowing and there was plenty of excitement that Leah’s big day was finally here.
I nipped into where Andy and his groomsman were getting ready in one of the many luxurious rooms that Colshaw Hall offers. Andy and his son Isaac (who was also his Best Man) were spritzing aftershave before joining the rest of the guys downstairs in the bar for pre-ceremony drinks.
The Final Touches
Leah and her bridesmaids moved on from the Makeup Lounge to another room that had been lovingly decorated by her bridal party. Leah’s dress hung magnificently by the window, while the lovely blush pink bridesmaid dresses hung from the grand fireplace. Leah was presented with a few gifts, including an incredible bracelet from Andy.
The Ceremony
I was once again working with the incredibly talented Celebrant SJ, who led Leah and Andy’s ceremony. It was an emotional entrance as Leah walked down the aisle, which turned into lots of laughter as Sarah-Jane led a game of Mr and Mrs. With Leah from Lancashire and Andy from Yorkshire it was the War of the Roses, with guests holding up a red or white rose, depending on their answer.
I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room as Leah and Andy said their vows to one another.
Guests lined up outside the ceremony room to shower the happy couple in confetti, before heading to the bar for their reception drinks.
The Couples Shoot
Phillip from Zap Image and I took the happy couple into the grounds for their couples shoot. Leah and Andy strolled hand-in-hand around the grounds and laughed and giggled their way through a few poses. Colshaw Hall has so many brilliant spots for video and photos, including a little bridge over a pond with views of the hall in the background.
The Reception
Leah and Andy’s family and friends braved the Autumn chill for their family photos in the Walled Garden. With matching denim jackets, Leah and her bridesmaids strutted their stuff for some amazing shots with so much sass!
Leah’s father and Andy gave great speeches, but the absolute winner was the speech delivered by Andy’s young son Issac. He lightheartedly took the mickey out of his dad for his OCD ways and told Leah how much he and his sister Izzy loved her. It was just lovely.
