Owen House Wedding Barn – Wedding Film

Molly and Charlie

Owen House Wedding Barn – Wedding Film

Molly and Charlie had a gorgeous autumn wedding at Owen House Wedding Barn in Cheshire. This family run venue is also a working farm, so sheep and cows roam the surrounding fields and decorative farm equipment such as tractors make for quirky photo backdrops.

Filming at a venue like this, it’s clear to see why barn weddings are so popular at the moment, with everything you need in one place and with lots of space for guests to enjoy. The main barn is a beautiful building with rustic charm and a pitched ceiling. The ceremony room is located just next door and seats up to 120, which Molly and Charlie definitely met that quota for with so many family and friends joining them to celebrate.

Owen House Wedding Barn Highlights Film

Although there was a little drizzle in the morning, there were blue skies and sunshine just in time for the reception drinks and a few photos in the surrounding countryside. The resident cows and young calves joined in the celebrations πŸ™‚

I joined Molly and her bridal party in the dedicated beauty shed, when the prosecco was in full-flow (having been kept chilled in the room’s dedicated prosecco fridge). The beauty shed has a salon-style set-up with large individual mirrors and seating, shower room, and lots of space for dancing – which the bridal party did a lot of. The morning was a lot of fun to film!

Beauty Shed

I also spent a bit of time with Charlie and his groomsman in the baaber shed (get it) where I found the guys having a few beers, playing foosball, and struggling with their buttonholes (as everyone does). With the beautiful wooden cladding outside the beauty shed, I also couldn’t resist getting some footage of Molly’s beautiful dress hanging up in all of its glory.

The Dress

With everything so close, this venue is a dream for nipping back and forth between the bride and groom, while still be able to capture guests arriving.

The Ceremony

The best man was on hand supplying plenty of tissues as Molly walked down the aisle towards Charlie. As Molly, Charlie, and their respective families are involved in their church, their own pastor performed the ceremony which was incredibly personal to them.

They even had their church band play during the ceremony and the congregation all joined in to sing. It was spectacular to see and I couldn’t get the songs out of my head for weeks after editing as they were so good!

I love it when couples choose to write in personal sections to their vows. One of my favourite bits from Molly’s vows was ‘I will respect times when you need to play on your XBox and I will let you keep your weird figurines in your room”. There was lots of laughter in the room throughout the ceremony, which reflects Molly and Charlie’s playful nature.

Family Photos

Molly and Charlie walked out to Natalie Cole’s ‘This will be’ and had photos in the unexpected sunshine, while guests enjoyed drinks outside the main barn.

Couples Shoot

Chris from McDavid Photography and I took them away for a short couple’s shoot in the lovely surrounding countryside. Molly and Charlie laugh all the time and were not that fussed about lots of staged shots, but it was just lovely to film them having such a great time together.

Wedding Breakfast

After the wedding breakfast there were some amazing speeches from the father of the bride, groom, bride, and the best man. They were hilarious and heartfelt, withΒ  guests wiping their eyes one minute, to banging on the tables and heckling the next. These are the best kind of speeches!

Shooting Gallery

Before the evening party kicked off, we whisked Molly and Charlie off to the venue’s hidden gem – the shooting gallery. This exclusive barn is through a secret back door where only the bride, groom and their videographer and photographer are allowed to set foot. I’m a sucker for fairy lights so this was my idea of heaven!

Evening Band

At the end of their first dance, Molly and Charlie had choreographed a dance with their bridesmaids and groomsman, which lead seamlessly into lots of other people joining them on the dance floor. Even more guests joined the evening party and the dance floor was packed all night dancing to the eclectic mix from their brilliant wedding band, Monstaball.

Owen House Wedding Barn Wedding Videographer

Having filmed at Owen House Wedding Barn, I can highly recommend it as a wedding venue as they have thought of lots of little touches that will make your day extra special. It’s in a great location, only 15 miles from the centre of Manchester and around 35 miles from Chester. It’s also close to Manchester Airport, so if you’ve got any guests flying in, then it’s perfectly situated.

Molly and Charlie had a fantastic time and I thoroughly enjoyed filming their special day. They left me this lovely review πŸ™‚
