03 Apr The Oak Tree of Peover – Wedding Film
Chris and Sarah knew the Oak Tree of Peover was for them from the moment they saw it. Sarah has always secretly wanted to get married at Wayfarers Chapel in California (think glass walls, glass ceilings and wooden beams), and not fancying a destination wedding, this was the perfect option on UK soil.
Autumn time at the Oak Tree of Peover is particularly pretty, with an abundance of trees surrounding the venue in different shades of red, yellow, and orange. With the organic architecture and full-length windows, Sarah loved the idea of being cosy indoors, while still being able to enjoy the woodland surroundings.
Sarah is incredibly creative, and along with the help of her family, she made almost all of the decorations herself, from the table plan to the center pieces.
The Oak Tree of Peover Highlights Film
With the sun peaking above the clouds in the morning and rain forecast for later in the day, I got to the venue a little early to fly the drone. It was lovely to capture the autumnal colours from above, along with views of the impressive Cheshire countryside.
The Dress
I joined Sarah, her mum, sister, and man of honour in the bridal suite while they were getting ready. Considering they had all been crazy busy earlier that morning dressing the wedding breakfast and ceremony rooms, the atmosphere was very calm and relaxed. Sarah’s dress from Willow Bridal Boutique hung beautifully, with her second dress hidden in a garment bag ready to be revealed later that evening.
Sarah had a lovely low tousled updo styled by Faye Kenyon Hair and Make-up. It was all hands on deck (including me!) for lacing Sarah’s intricate tie-back corset and the result was absolutely stunning.
The Groomsman
Chris wasn’t getting ready at the Oak Tree of Peover, but I found him and his groomsman late morning second-guessing the height of their buttonholes and greeting guests as they arrived.
Sarah and Chris cleverly incorporated their hobbies and passions into their decorations to give them that extra personal touch. As keen cyclists, they even used a bike wheel as part of their welcome messages.
The Ceremony
The ceremony room looked gorgeous and the bridal party walked down the aisle to the very emotional ‘The Book of Love’. Tears were shed during the vows and there was a musical interlude during the signing of the register from Sarah’s university singing group, who sang some of the couple’s favourite songs.
This shows how magical the day was – even a unicorn made an appearance!
The Couples Shoot
Andy from A W Photography and I took Sarah and Chris off for 10 minutes for their couple’s shoot and took advantage of the stunning woodland surroundings.
Sarah had said that they’re not big on public displays of affection. I believe some of the loveliest shots are when a couple are just smiling and having a laugh together, and that’s exactly what Sarah and Chris did.
The Wedding Breakfast
The table decorations were stunning and each table was named after one of Chris and Sarah’s favourite films. Guests dined on the couple’s favourite cuisine (Tapas) and there was even a pub quiz later in the evening.
The First Dance
Sarah and Chris surprised guests with a choreographed first dance which they took salsa lessons for. Friends and family joined them on the dance floor to get the party started.
The Oak Tree of Peover Wedding Videographer
Both Sarah and Chris are doctors, and with such busy jobs, I don’t know how they found the time to plan and create all aspects of the day. The Oak Tree of Peover was the perfect venue for them to make their own, it was such an incredible day and all of their hard work certainly paid off.
