21 Mar Lingholm Estate Keswick – Wedding Film
Poppy and Keith told me that Keswick was where they had first fallen in love on a romantic weekend away, and it meant so much to them that they chose to return there to marry. They live in Kent, so it was a long old journey for them and their friends and family, but it was clear to see that everyone loved every moment of it.
Lingholm Estate is on the edge of Derwentwater and offers self-catering accommodation in the main building and throughout the grounds in lovely cottages. The lake views from the grounds are magnificent as is the dramatic landscape that surrounds the estate. It’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been.
Lingholm Estate Keswick Highlights Film
Keswick is at the north of Derwentwater, which is a large lake surrounded by lush hills. It reminded me of somewhere I stayed in the Philippines – it’s that rugged and exotic! When it came to the special day, it was the most glorious summer’s day and the lake was alive with boats and stand-up paddle boarders.
The Venue
I started the day off by sending the drone up to capture some of the magnificent views. From the air you can see just how vast the grounds are at Lingholm Esate and the beauty that surrounds it. Poppy’s wedding dress was visible hanging up in the bridal suite so I also flew over the house to capture this hanging in the window.
It’s tradition at Lingholm Estate that the groomsman start the day with a swim in the lake. Although the sun was shining, it was pretty cold in there!
The Bridal Preparations
I joined Poppy, her lovely daughter Lizzie, and her bridesmaids in her bridal suite getting ready. It was a very chilled atmosphere and Lizzie sat on her mum’s lap good as gold while Poppy had her hair done.
Poppy’s dress was from The Bridal Rooms and was absolutely stunning.
As Poppy and Keith were getting ready in the same venue, I spent a bit of time with Keith and the groomsman. They drank Champagne on the balcony overlooking the lake and it was sweet to see Keith’s dad getting a bit emotional as Keith attached his buttonhole.
The Ceremony
Poppy walked down the aisle with Lizzie in her arms and the couple married under a lovely flower archway.
Both Poppy and Lizzie looked like princesses and their guests celebrated with confetti as the couple walked out as man and wife.
The Couples Shoot
As reception drinks took place, we took Poppy and Keith for a walk around the grounds for their couples shoot. There happened to be a swing and Poppy couldn’t resist…
Poppy and Keith enjoyed some alone time walking hand-in-hand along the lakeside beach. I then captured them walking along the jetty with the drone, followed by a 360 degree shot of them kissing at the end. These shots added a lovely cinematic touch to their highlights film. While on the jetty, a friendly stand-up paddle boarder congratulated the couple as he paddled on by.
The Speeches
Lingholm Estate has beautifully kept, split level gardens and guests played garden games such as hoopla and bowls. The estate even has a larma experience so the odd larma was seen roaming the grounds.
Poppy and Keith had planned to have their speeches in the wedding breakfast room, but with the glorious weather, they decided last minute to have them outside. I loved the relaxed style with this and they announced during Keith’s speech that they were expecting their second child!
The wedding breakfast was a delicious posh picnic with Disney characters as table names. Poppy and Keith got engaged at Disneyland and there were a few Disney-themed elements throughout the wedding. Once the tables had been cleared – and with Poppy’s uncle on the decks – the party got going!
Lingholm Estate Keswick Wedding Videographer
There’s no doubt about it, Keswick is a spectacular destination in the Lake District, and Lingholm Estate is a beautiful venue for a wedding. The venue offers lots of flexibility so you can plan the wedding however you like, and with lots of accommodation on offer for guests, it’s a great place to make a long weekend of it to enjoy this extra special part of the world.
Poppy and Keith were chuffed to bits with their wedding film and left me these very kind words:
